Installation Orientation: Position the opening of the skeleton oil seal inward, toward the lubricant, with the specification side facing outward.

Installation on Shaft or Housing: The oil seal's inside diameter is typically smaller than the shaft diameter, allowing for some overrun. To avoid damaging the seal lip, use a tapered shaft shoulder or tooling for assembly. Special tools are necessary for shafts with threads, grooves, or splines to protect the seal lips.

Note: Keep the oil seal clean from pickup to assembly. Conduct a machining inspection to verify that the oil seal's dimensions align with the shaft and cavity. Ensure the shaft and cavity ends are smooth and free of damage or burrs. Use a 15 to 30-degree chamfer on the shaft and seat hole, avoiding slopes at the corners. Remove any debris, such as burrs or filings, from the assembly area to prevent damage to the oil seal lip.

Post-Installation Inspection: Verify that everything is functioning correctly.
